[PRC #3] PWN DAO's First Token Airdrop

TL;DR

Kick off PWN DAO’s first token airdrop, distribute 1 million PWN tokens to eligible community members. The airdrop will reward active participants in the PWN ecosystem and members of selected communities who have completed the PWN DAO onboarding process.

Voting

  • Mode: Stewards
  • Duration: 7 days
  • Veto Threshold: 10% of total voting power

Proposal

Airdrop Size and Token Minting

  • Total airdrop size: 1,000,000 PWN tokens
  • These tokens will be newly minted for the purpose of this airdrop

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Reputation Points: Users who have earned reputation points through active participation in the PWN app (check out Community Program and Incentives | PWN)
  2. Rewarded Communities: Members of selected communities who have completed the PWN DAO onboarding process. Those communities are:
    1. Ethereum contributors
    2. Event organizers
    3. DAO participants
    4. FOSS contributors
    5. Founders

Distribution

  • 80% of the airdrop (800,000 PWN) will be allocated based on PWN Reputation Points
  • 20% of the airdrop (200,000 PWN) will be distributed among eligible members from rewarded communities

Snapshot

Snapshot will be taken 2 months after announcement, to give PWN users and rewarded community members time to collect reputation points and complete the PWN DAO onboarding process.

Claiming Process

Eligible users will be able to claim their tokens through a dedicated airdrop interface on the PWN platform.

The claiming period will last for 90 days from the start date.

Rationale

This airdrop serves multiple purposes:

  1. Reward Early Adopters: Recognizing and incentivizing users who have actively contributed to the PWN ecosystem
  2. Expand Community: Encouraging participation from new users in partner communities
  3. Decentralize Governance: Distributing governance tokens to a wider user base, promoting decentralized decision-making

Implementation

If this proposal passes, the following steps will be taken:

  1. Define snapshot date (~2 months after announcement post release)
  2. Announce the airdrop to the community with clear instructions
  3. Develop the airdrop smart contract
  4. Mint 1,000,000 PWN tokens to PWN DAO Foundation Safe that will be transferred to airdrop contract after deployment
  5. Build and deploy the airdrop claiming interface
